Strengthening Families Program

The Strengthening Families Program is a nationally recognized science-based, outcome oriented model specifically designed to build on the strengths of youth and their families in order to address the challenges of children and adolescents ages 9-14 and their caregivers.

Strengthening Families is conducted in seven sessions held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A family meal and childcare for younger siblings is provided at no cost.  After the family meal, separate simultaneous meetings for caregivers and youth are conducted.  At the conclusion of the evening, the families reunite for a family activity that will provide opportunity to share and to strengthen the skills that have been learned.  After the seven sessions have been conducted, follow up meetings for renewal and fun may be provided.

Families earn incentives in the form of a visa gift certificates up to $150 per family.  These incentives are given at various intervals during the seven sessions. The program consists of seven (7) sessions.

¨     Participants will receive the full amount of incentives totaling $150 if they complete 6 out of 7 sessions.

¨     Participants who are repeating the program are not eligible for incentives.

¨     To qualify for any part of the incentive package participants can not miss more than 2 sessions.

¨     Missing more than 2 sessions will disqualify a family from the current program.

All incentives are given in the form of VISA gift cards

Incentive #1:  $25 Participants must attend two (2) sessions to qualify.  Distribution will be at the third (3) session attended.

Incentive #2: $25 Participants must attend four (4) sessions to qualify.  Distribution will be at the fifth (5) session attended.

Incentive #3: $100 Participants must attend six (6) sessions to qualify.  Distribution will be at the seventh (7) session.
